Pau Needs A Change?

Not You

November 29, 2012 rumor is Amare Stoudemire is on the Lakers minds. For what reason i dont know. Amare is reportedly 2 weeks from coming back from knee surgery. Stoudemire is actually the bad luck of the Knicks, losing more games with him in then out. When he’s not playing the Knicks Win more games. So a player like that has no reason to be traded to Los Angeles.

Knicks efficiency with Stoudemire on and off floor, 2011-12

Stoudemire on/off floor MIN Pace OffRtg DefRtg NetRtg +/-
On floor 1,543 96.1 98.1 100.8 -2.7 -42
Off floor 1,645 95.3 104.6 96.2 +8.4 +253

Amare might be quicker and have more agility then Pau, he can block shots and be on his feet better then Pau but, that is a total downgrade for the lakers if they decide to acquire him. Josh Smith is still on my mind, even though what i say won’t change and thing. Sometimes i think it takes common sense to figure out what our Los Angeles Lakers need. Everyone seemed to forget we have scorers maybe uploaded with too many, we need defenders. We need D-FENSE. Kobe Bryant doesn’t play much defense Pau Gasol wont play any defense, that’s 2 players out the starting lineup.Very Bad.  And i wont even speak on our bench. But i will leave out Jordan Hill. Who plays excellent defense.  But Josh Smith is your guy.

The Great Depression

In Short Time

Now aren’t we all frustrated with the Lakers?  We went from assuming it was Mike Brown,  thought bringing in Mike D would accelerate the Lakers offense, so now there is what we call a time to look at the individual players themselves.  As of November 28,2012, the Los Angeles Lakers shot 221 free- throws and made only 162  collectively as a team. No.1 that is never a good way of  winning.  Then we have another problem to solve or to be solved to become a Contender in this dedicated League, and that is  to MOVE AROUND.  Am I the only one that notices the Lakers standing still all the time?  As a Professional NBA player your job is one, or even more  out of these job duties which includes: getting open, score easy buckets, play defense and run the floor.  Now how hard can that be. Easy if you ask me especially when the Buss family invested in Pau Gasol this year for $19,000,000 and it doesnt show on Defense. I actually know as a player as a teen, if your offensive game struggles you play defense, so we can remember something good about you. Pau’ s opponents understand he’s not aggressive and they can run over him, around him, and even go up and dunk over a 7 footer.

A Great Example Of A Defensive Player Who Can Also Score

Then you have someone like Josh Smith averaging 15.2 pts per game more then Gasol, 3.5 assists per game a tad more at any forward position. Lakers seemed to forget naturally Pau is a center, with a power forward alternative but isn’t working for him or the team at all. Smith can do alot, but more importantly he can run the floor better then Gasol.  Lakers need defensive stops to create poise for offense. Just because you can score doesnt mean you dont have to play defense.Right?  Look at a player like, Jordan Hill. No matter how many minutes he play, nothing changes for his defensive, you agree?  Well that is because maybe Jordan Hill wakes up, throws his gym clothes on, heads to Staples Center saying to himself, “same thing tonight”.

Interesting Player To Have

Without this guy ‘s talent there would literally be no bench even though his scoring ability isnt Gasol’ s. J-hills’ defensive knocks Pau’ s out the water. This is the NBA not volleyball. When someone shoots, you are paid to box-out, time the ball into two hands and secure the ball.  Not ping pong it to your teammate and hope he will grab it for you. When do you see Gasol jump up and grab a rebound with two hands unless nobody is under the basket.  Your los Angeles Lakers have choices but they got to understand time is ticking and the coaching staff wouldn’t be able to turn this one around.  It will have to take the GM (Mitch Kupchak) or the Buss family to understand and debate if they wont to add more rings to the jewl box.

And don’t get me wrong i love Pau, i appreciate what he has done for the team. But L.A. might not fit for him for the 2012-2013 season.

Agreed. Pau needs to step it up or step aside. Stats are shown and they say numbers don’t lie!
